This copy of a log book documents the first plane, a Curtiss JN-6HG, Number 45263, to land in Yosemite Valley. This plane was flown by James S. Krull, who was a pilot in the Army Air Service, a predecessor to the current United States Air Force. Arthur C. Pillsbury, was onboard the plane and took images of the park that became renowned around the country. The log book also documents other flights made by Krull, often taking off from Mather Air Field in Sacramento.
